He is also a long time member of the United States Power Squadron.
Everett Sail and Power Squadron District 16 and holding the grade of "Pilot"
He is a native Washingtonian and has lived in Washington all his life sailing all bodies of water he could get to.
In high school, he spent time at the Young Life camp "Malibu" and at the Young Life Camp "Sailing Beyond" thus spawning the desire to sail salt water.
Over the years he and his family have spent time cruising the Pacific Northwest including Puget Sound, Possession Sound, San Juan Islands, Canadian Gulf Islands, and as far north as Jervis Inlet.
His experiences in boats include a large variety of boats ranging from sailboards to 40' cruisers.
He has at one time or another personally owned a large variaty of sailboats including 8' Toro, 10' sailboard, 12' Ranger, 13' Sunfish, 14' Dagger, 15' Beneteau, 18' Solcat Catamaran, Two 22' Sunpipers, 28'Ranger, 32' Endeavour, 40' Beneteau.

Captain Scott is also currently employed at AT&T Labs as a Lead/Senior Software Engineer supporting C.A.L.E.A. with 20 plus years seniority.
Other hobbies include Corvettes and riding motorcycles.
