He is a native Washingtonian and has lived in Washington all his life sailing all bodies of water he could get to.
In high school, he spent time at the Young Life camp Malibu and at the Young Life Camp Sailing Beyond thus spawning the desire to sail salt water.
Over the years he and his family have spent time cruising the Pacific Northwest including Puget Sound, Possession Sound, San Juan Islands, Canadian Gulf Islands, and as far north as Jervis Inlet.
His experiences in boats include a large variety of boats ranging from sailboards to 40' cruisers.
He has at one time or another personally owned a large variaty of sailboats including 7' Dyer Miget, 8' Toro, 10' sailboard, 12' Ranger, 13' Sunfish, 14' Dagger, 15' Beneteau, 18' Solcat Catamaran, 20' Osprey, Three 22' Sunpipers, 28'Ranger, 32' Endeavour, 40' Beneteau.
